A Unique "Mini Museum" at Southeast Branch

Have you ever heard of the rock band Paramore? No! That’s ok, nobody else has either. Paul Schaffner, Library Assistant of Southeast Regional Children’s Department, remembers asking people about the band years ago and always getting an “I never heard of them” response. Paul has an interest in all things musical. He recently organized a children’s program for two to five year olds making 100 guitars out of empty tissue paper boxes, paper towel rolls and rubber bands. As Paramore’s number one fan in Jacksonville, or the southeastern United States for that matter, Paul has decorated his cubicle with a montage of items and posters of the band. Surprisingly, according to Alternative Press magazine, the band recently won band of the year. Pictured is Paul with his tribute cubicle to Paramore. So, if you have an opportunity to visit Southeast Library, you are welcome to take the tour of probably the only Paramore museum in North America.

I met Paul at Destination Leadership training. In fact, we sat at the same table and yes, he did bring up Paramore. Of course, no one heard of them. Have they heard of Paul? Great story!
